Pierce County Economic Development built a one-stop shop for people in Pierce County to explore new businesses and find everything they need. We’re making decentralized discussions on social media a thing of the past and creating a place to connect local entrepreneurs with excited customers. 

Childcare

Any parents who need to find or change their daycare can visit the new childcare information page, which appears under the Living tab on our website. 

For Parents 

Locate licensed providers with a click-and-drag map of Pierce County and surrounding areas. Parents can search by location, age range, and specialties, such as Spanish language providers, special education needs, and dietary requirements. Word-of-mouth referrals still apply here; by-name searches with detailed hours and provider availability are conveniently located on-site. 

For Caregivers 

New providers can contact PCED to learn more about grants and incentives available to new childcare providers. Established childcare businesses can confirm and update their information as they expand their capacity to accommodate the growing family population in Pierce County. 

We also display updates on fundraisers, investors, and new programs oriented toward our most important resource—our children.   

Community Calendar 

PCED hopes to unite the community through new events. The county calendar collects and shares information about official and local business events in one place. Our communities and area organizations are welcome to share event information for free on our website as an additional communication tool. We encourage entrepreneurs and nonprofits to share their grand openings, fundraisers, and other occasions from an official source to attract more visitors.

Our directories cover other essential resources and leisure activities of great interest to Pierce County residents. From shopping and outdoor adventures to healthcare and education, everything appears in a set of neat, organized collections accessible from our homepage. 

Healthcare 

Find important healthcare information close to home in our medical directory. Sorted by service type, new patients can find contact information, mission details, and links to providers' websites in one convenient location. Our list catalogs Pierce County chiropractors, clinics, dentists, eye doctors, general healthcare, pharmacies, and physical therapists. 

Education 

Learn more about each of our three excellent public school districts and two private Lutheran schools on our education page. 

Arts 

On our art page, residents can learn more about some artisans contributing to Pierce County’s local color.  We showcase artists and small businesses selling handmade goods and links to several popular musical venues. Interested volunteers can also contact the Plainview Arts Council and learn more about our plans for future growth. 

Recreation 

Find links to outdoor entertainment suitable for all ages on the Get Outdoors page. Information about our parks and their annual events is available, and we share updates on new park developments and their new activities as they offer them.
