Hadar
Of the four Pierce County communities, Hadar is the closest to Norfolk. With nearby Highway 81, this community offers close proximity to the city while maintaining a country feel and an affordable cost of living. Pierce County has welcomed 57 new businesses in the last five years, three of which chose Hadar as their home base. Nearby Power Sport Nation also plans to create 120 new jobs, creating new opportunities for residents to work close to home.
About two-thirds of Hadar’s residents own their homes, thanks to the availability of affordable housing. The city is currently planning how to expand its housing plans further. With the average household income far surpassing six figures, residents benefit from the ideal combination of a high income and low living costs.

Osmond
Osmond’s strong and growing school system makes it an ideal place to raise a family. Like Hadar, the abundant housing options allow most residents to own homes. Recreation is an important part of Osmond’s community, too. The city has several parks, a bowling alley, and a new $1.1 million waterpark to provide kids with plenty of activities.
Businesses in Osmond are thriving, thanks to the help of The Osmond Venture Resources. These two organizations host local activities and events to raise awareness for local businesses. PCED has assisted in opening or transitioning four businesses in the last five years. Most residents find work in agriculture or health care, but with 62 businesses located in Osmond, there are certainly a variety of career paths to pursue.

Pierce
Pierce is characterized by its rapid downtown business growth, welcoming 11 businesses in the last five years. After revitalizing its downtown area, new and existing businesses alike have been thriving more than ever before. The city is even working on new housing projects to meet market demands.

Plainview
Beautiful Plainview is revitalizing its downtown area to accommodate the young families relocating there. Outdoor activities are something Plainview’s residents love, so the city added new pickleball, basketball, tennis, and foursquare courts to help residents enjoy the outdoors. They also created new playgrounds and updated the community pool so kids have plenty of places to play.
